Ektaa Kapoor is the public face and creative director of Balaji Telefilms, who produces a vast array of TV serials with "riveting plots" that have propelled the company to the top of the television ratings.
She is the daughter of Jeetendra Kapoor, the actor and director who owns the company with his family. At the age of 25, she was listed in Asiaweek's top 50 list of young entrepreneurs. She was listed in Mid-Day's 2003 list of 50 most powerful people in the media.
Her serials -- Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, and Kusum all begin with the letter K because of her astrologer's advice.
