On Sameera Reddy & the ways of bollywood

She might not have the best bollywood movies at hand,but sameera's bengali films are doing the rounds of film fests all over nowadays, she has done a couple of movies with legendary bengali filmmaker Buddhadev Dasgupta - Ami Yasin Arr Amar Madhubala & Kaalpurush. Recently she was in the news for being attacked by a mob as she was trying to help some destitute children. No one from bollywood supported her, its funny to see how bollywood will rally around convited criminals (dutt, salman) & support them vociferously in all ways possible, but no one will comes to the aid of sameera & the children. Rumor has it that the 3yr in dating couple kareena kapoor & shahid kapoor have split, and according to the grapevine its saif who has formed a special friendship with kareena on the sets of the yashraj movie tashan. This aint the first time saif is being linked with an actress , bipasha john drift was also speculated to be due to Saif.



And we dont blame the women , saif is a natural charmer , an absolute smooth playa & with his bollywood career on a high its has given him that extra oomph factor. John Abraham might be good looking all right but his career is going nowhere , his acting skills havent improved at all & he still looks like a toothpaste commercial every time he's on the screen. Shahid on the other hand might fall into the chocolate boy bracket , he too doesnt have any big banners queued up but does have a string of flops to his credit. And everytime he is on screen he seems like trying to mimic shahrukh khan which does work to some extent with teenaged girls but they too seem to grow out of it eventually & it seems kareena has too. Seems like kareena is doing exactly the same thing older sister Karishma did , she dumped a struggling abhishek bacchan for a more well settled businessman. Saif is at the absolute top of the game, with big banner movies & best of the product endorsements. With shahrukh in semi retirement, salman in & out of prision, aamir doing his 1 movie a year thing , saif might be the top of the khans soon enough & kareena seems to know that too.

My earliest memories of vidya balan were from hum paanch where she was a geeky teenager, i must admit i never felt like she was the 'star material' (how wrong was i) , i somehow never saw pareeneta when it came out. But when i saw lage raho munnabhai i was blown away, i was made a fan. Her simple old world charm with the girl next doorlook & oodles of acting talent got me hooked, From then on ive been following this south indian beauty's every movie & look forward to her in it. Even in the promos of Bhool Bhulaiya vidya really captures your eyes.

Out of all the sen babes, raima is one who has been neglected much by the bollywood fraternity in terms of roles offered to her. Raima fits more into the classical bengali beauty mode than either of the sen's. Have you guys noticed, Aishwarya has been wearing this same white coat at so many recent events @ french open, @french open press meet, @south filmfare awards 2007, @longines press meet in mumbai , whats going on aishwarya ? the Bachchan's are known to be a superstitious lot having a family astrologer & all , perhaps it has got something to do with that or hasnt aishwarya still trasferred her clothes to the Bachchan bunglow , we can all but speculate, only aishwarya would know whats going on.

I like this girl , she looks good & does seem to have an attitude to match. I saw one of the promos of the songs "thoda sa thehro , karti hoon tumse waada , pura hoga tumhara iraada , main hoon saari ki saari tumhari to kaheko ko jaldi karo" the original in which saira banu sings it to Ranjeet when he goes all over her. The remake of the movie victoria no 203 has the song in it too & soniya is the one who sings it here, sadly there is no ranjeet replacement possible but soniya does look really sexy in it.

Jeez the world is falling apart - Mallika replaces Tabu

For a upcoming movie mallika sherawat has actually replaced tabu because tabu apparently looked too old for the role. There is something really sinister about this ,tabu is a class act & infact after i saw cheeni kum i think tabu is looking at her best, replacing her with mallika who actually looks the same age as her i think (and who has no sensuality to speak of) is plain stupid.




SRK passed on ash for the same reason for a movie .. again.. you never pass on ash .. but then again , its surely something more there.

Karz has been one of my favorite all time movies & rishi kapoor has been my favorite actors since a long time. Karz is also by far subhash ghai's best movie.



And who doesnt like the solah baras ki tina munim a role which is allegedly going to be played by hansika motwani ..not bad a choice



Simi grewal was all class in it & urmila is rumored to play her part .. again urmi is always yummy.



But, cant you already imagine this guy doing ooohhhoooo on the infamous karz tune.



This was one movie i hoped they dindnt remake ...well atleast not with himmesh.

Everyone loved aliya bose in chak de india with me being no exception, performancewise all the girls did a great job , looks wise i loved aliya bose , she became my favorite red head after Jennifer garner , she has chopped off those locks now , perhaps for a some theater , but she will be very much always remembered as that sexy girl in chak de india. She was on Ranvir Vinay aur kaun show in star one a few days back , seems to be a very shy infact very introverted girl quite different from her character aliya in chak de india. Beautiful Girl from Instant Karma Music Video 'Dil Kya Kare'

Dil kya kare is one of my favourite kishore kumar numbers of all times, although im not someone who likes remixed songs specially songs which are resung by new singers, this song is an exception, shaan has sung this as beautifuly as kishoreda & this is one of the classic music videos of indipop scene , it actually takes one to some other dream world , tryly has a great feel to it, i am pretty sure there are a lot many fans of this song & music video. It features this gorgeous model shown only through black & white stills throughout except the last part where she gets a color look, ive been trying to locate her name without any success. Nor have i seen her in any music video or even a commercial after this video. She does look like anglo indian perhaps, and no its NOT lisa ray. Even the photographs are so wonderfully shot that it really needs to be known who is behind them.

Shahrukh & Farha together are quite the riot, both have an amazing sense of humor , we all know about shahrukh's funny bone but farha too is quite the funny girl ..er lady. There is a lot of criticism & skepticism about her directorial skills , however i think her earlier effort 'main hoon nah' was a much better movie than even the most well known directors in recent times, i thoroughly enjoyed it , it seemed to bring back the manmohan desai / naseer hussain era repackaged for today. Om shanti om too from its trailers atleast looks to be something which one will feel entertained, looking forward to it. Might i add deepika padukone was looking as stunning as she always does & boy... aint she tall ..those legs seen to be be neverending, and she always looks so calm & composed almost gives out the impression like hey i look fabulous & i know it somewhat of what aishwarya has.

I must confess i have a thing for parsi chicks & unfortunately we've never had pari represenatation in movies except the odd art / parallel movies & in mainstream mainly the odd funny parsi caricature bawa here there but parsi girls almost never , and real parsi girls seem to be shy of bollywood ..even television for that matter. She then didnt quite seem to do much work probably because there werent any good roles comming her way, she was again very busy for a couple of years with a lot of movies and some really good roles specially in forgotten showers which was an onscreen version of famous hindi writer Premchand's story "Bhuli Hui Baarish" Such movies with stark naked face of india rarely make headlines , nor are shown at major cinema halls.

Tabu never really looked good with any hero on screen , and thats why she never really got paired with anyone repeatedly. Due to her height she never quite got paired with the leading four khan's who would look like leprechauns in front of her. And the younger lot would perhaps look a little too young for tabu. But her pairing with Mr Bacchan in Cheeni Kum was fabulous. Even though there is a considerable age difference, the chemistry between them was tremendous , besides rekha no other actress has matched upto big b on the screen be it acting prowess or chemistry, tabu however did just that.
Hopefully we can have them on screen again very soon.
