50 Beautiful Indian Women Femina - Flawed & Biased

I was pretty much excited to see femina bring out the list of 50 most beautiful indian women today. Considering it is a contemporary list made it an even more exciting prospect. Femina have covered women from a wide range - movies, models, sports, politics, singers, etc which is again a very good thing. However the major flaw or perhaps i would go to the extent of calling it a bias is the non inclusion of faces from down south. No south indian actress features on the list , one omission in particular was surprising - shriya saran who is basically a north indian girl working down south. There are a lot more beauties down south who rightfully feel left out.

Besides that some of the women do seem like strange choices, not meaning any disrespect to the lovely ladies but they being in as the "50 Most Beautiful Indian Women " does seem surprising.

The choices from the modelling world does seem to be pretty strange , with sheetal mallar, michelle innes, vipasha agarwal & fluer xavier filling in. No diandra, indrani, shivani, jesse , aanchal, shonali, etc one of which i was sure would make it to the list.

While some of the mentions are outright newcomers of whom we have hardly seen anything while there are some who can be called beautiful but not in the top 50 most beautiful indian women list for sure. And then there are those who are past their sell by dates figuratively speaking. There there are those here who make you think how'd she get in !!

parizad kolah marshall is way too hot than quite a few women there & she doesnt get a look in among the selected tellywood babes.

Among the actres lot amisha, neha , nandana, celina, isha , atleast a couple of them if not all should have been in the list which would've given it a little more credibility.

Aditi Govitrikar too should've been in it , this ex mrs world surely had a spot in there somewhere, specially after being featured on femina so many times since more than a decade now.

And any list which doesnt have urmila matondkar on it should be dismissed without a second look.

Sonali Kulkarni - Easily one of the best actresses of our generation

And also the most underrated as well. Few actresses can compete with sonali kulkarni today in terms of acting prowess. Most of her good work has come in regional cinema or non-mainstream cinema. Very few indian actresses have been able to be get strong roles outside india , sonali has not only done that but won lots of accolades & awards too with her italian movie "Fuoco su di me (2006)".
With most of the actresses today going for glam & skin , sonali is one of the few actresses who can really be in the 80's parallel cinema movement which brought up actresses like smita patil & shabana azmi. Vijaya - Girl in 'Mehek Teri' Music Video

Flipping though the channels, this song caught my eye mainly because of Vijaya , the girl featured in it. With her exotic features it was hard to guess which part of india she could be. It turns out that vijaya is a goa girl born to a Tamilian father and an Anglo Indian mother. Interestingly enough Vijaya is also a fashion designer and has her own range of clothing as well. The song too is soft on the ears , vikas bhalla is a decent singer & this soft mushy romantic number suits his voice & is a breath of fresh air from the remix videos with skimply dressed models indulging in vulgar dancing steps.

For me sumedha was the winner of saregamapa, having always being perfect in her choice of songs & singing. She looked to be the onw who was supremely confident about her vocal skills & knew her singing in & out to know what was the song best suited to her. Sadly she got knocked out yesterday , but she already has a few film playbacks to credit , something that not all the contestants can boast of today or even in the near future. Mussarat's rendition of Signal was like pouring tobasco sauce in the ears, he shreiked , he cracked, he missed the rhythm, beat, tune, everything. While raja sang kishore kumar's 'aake seedhi lagi' as masterfully as anyone could have. The junta knew better & they naturally voted out mussarat.

Sumedha karmahe is singing beautifully & it would be a shame if she is not in the top & some half talent from across the border wins sympathy votes or people go on idiotic comments of people like ismail darbar & himmesh reshammiya as we just saw , the choice is up to YOU.

Tanushree does have a couple of movies at hand namely Priyadarshan's Dhol & Vikram Bhatt's Speed (rumoured to be a remake of cellular) hopefully they will do better for her than this appearance at the india fashion week.

Mauli Out Of Saregamapa , Half Talented Pakis Still In !!

Last night mauli dave was voted out in saregamapa. It was indeed one of the worst days in the history of saregamapa. Mauli who is extremely talented was voted out mainly due to anti incubancy factor for her & overhype of other contestants namely the two boys from pakistan - Mussarat Abbas & Amanat Ali. These halftalents have been promoted by the show basically for trp sake as the show does have a huge fanbase amongst the pakistanis world over & with their own contestants in they are glued on to their sets for this show which is nothing short of a farce. You might recall sometime back inspite of one of the three being voted out & all the three being in danger zone were recalled by saregamapa so basically they are there on the bheek of the indian junta. Another huge reason for these two paki boys to hang in there are their gurus - Himmesh Reshammiya & Ismail Darbar , both who are known retards. I wonder who is the bigger foot in the mouth idiot out of the two who have always tried to belittle the musical greats of the country from rd burman to ar rehman. Ismail has hardly done any noteable work except the bhansali movies & frankly there isnt much comming his way either. Himmesh on the other hand is a complete product of gimmicks. The lesser said about the quality of music he churns out the better. These people hyped up their contestants so much that the junta actually started believing them, purely a case of say a lie a 1000 times & people will belive you. Mussarat sings nasally in a single high pitch be it any song a very typical trait of the pakistani singers that we are seeing in the few years , one cant differentiate from the another. Mussarat has sung pathetically numerous times , forgotten his lines while singing , etc however he stays back in the show as Himmesh almost begs the junta to vote for him as he is 'talented'. Amaanat Ali is a much better singer compared to him however he does have a lot of pronunciation problems with hindi words, does have a tendency to get nasal once in a while & cracks up as bad as axl rose sometimes.
The way ismail has been praising him , people almost would feel sonu nigam is on stage !!

The TRP of the show is going to go down definitely as the credibility as regards to the show has gone down tremendously.



Our last look at mauli in saregamapa, although i do say mauli fans dont need to feel too bad as she has lost the competition here as mauli has been noticed by the industry & she is sure to hit it big in the industry ... something which we can be sure we cant say for Half Talented Pakis Mussarat & Amaanat.
