We very well know the competition behind the wills india fashion week & lakme india fashion week, its more like the delhi mumbai war. With lakme fashion week (mumbai) being the unofficial one but always recently pulling the best of crowds & having lot of bollywood celebs sashay down the ramp. Apparently FDCI (who run WIFW)is terribly cash strapped & they have opted for newer (& cheaper) models , which actually is a great thing, there is a lot of space there for new faces, some of the current models have walked the ramp well past a decade now & are easily into their mid thirties.
Apparently wills fashion week had signed up contracts so those who participated in it were almost incapacitated to participate in the mumbai week , id say fantastic , although their intention was to run down the mumbai counterpart but that sure would've made many not to sign it thus the week would've had to look at younger blood, id say more weeks the merrier , and its high time some other cities like banglore & kolkatta got a look in as well.
