There is something about Lisa Ray
There is something about Lisa.
Recently interviewed she said, "What do you expect? I’ve been brought up by a Bengali father, watching the cinema of Satyajit Ray - of course I’ve been corrupted - I’m an idealist.”
Lisa is the beauty who has been ranked as the ninth most beautiful woman of the Millennium in India by a poll conducted by the Times of India, the only model in the top ten. Born of a Bengali father and Polish mother and raised in Canada, she returns to that faraway land often. The Canadian-Indian burst into the world of glamour almost a decade ago. Lisa Ray started young, at 16, and her first campaign was for Bombay Dyeing. Her beauty scorched the covers of Glad Rags in the interim and her recent appearances in the videos for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Afreen and Daler Mehndi's Jalwa almost set the small screen smoking.
Her latest modelling assignments include TV ads for Matiz, Lakme and Sprite. She went on to host "BPL OYE!" which was the most watched show on Channel [V]. She even did a cameo role opposite actor Rahul Roy. She compered the Screen Videocon Awards held last year and she also hosted a movie show Starbiz on Star Movies along with Kelly Dorji. She's recently taken up the pen and begun writing for Indian publications. Cosmopolitan, The Times group of publications and The Indian Express are just a few of the publications she has written in. In fact, her ambition is to be a novelist, with a base in Paris. She has been appointed the ambassador in India for Rado Watches.
