“If I can be accepted at Milan, New York or Germany, why should the foreigners not be accepted here? I have lost out on assignments because a junior Indian model accepted to work for much less. So, why blame the foreigners? But yes, what goes in their favour is the fact that they are uninhibited. So, blame our culture which tarnishes our reputation the moment we bare our skin a bit,” she says.
“Though in general, I have heard many models complain over the last two years that they are losing out work to foreigners, I personally haven’t been affected as I work in all the three streams -- advertising, shows and print campaigns. But I also feel that producers should not go for foreign models just because they have white skin and blonde hair. They should choose a model according to her caliber, whichever nationality she enjoys.”
