Probe wardrobe malfunction: Mumbai Court
Saturday, June 17, 2006 (Mumbai):

A Mumbai court has ordered police to probe into the wardrobe malfunction incidents involving popular models Carol Gracias and Gauhar Khan during Lakme fashion week in March-April this year.

Hearing a complaint filed a social activist, magistrate M H Belose on Friday asked Marine Drive police in south Mumbai to investigate the matter and submit a report by August 17.

Complainant Prakash Rajdev alleged that the police had failed to thoroughly investigate the case and given a clean chit to the offenders.

He alleged that the incidents were intentional and the models had indulged in nudity and obscenity, which constituted offences under IPC.

The complainant's lawyer J D Ved said police has been asked to investigate under section 156(3) of CrPC and submit a report within two months.

While walking down the ramp, models Carol Gracias and Gauhar Khan experienced wardrobe malfunction much to the embarrassment of the audience and organisers. There was also uproar over the incident in Maharashtra legislative assembly. (PTI)
