Of Bollywood & Casting Couch
Casting Couch is very much a reality that every bollywood aspirant has to come across or go through at some point of their struggle. Ofcourse those from film families ,second generation actors and children of producers , etc get exempted from it , though a new girl who is looking to be the next 'madhuri dixit' has to walk on the fire. The bigger production houses rarely look towards giving complete newbies a role , be it yashraj or any big house for that matter. Its the smaller film makers who usually cast them , if lucky enough to have sustained all the frustration or even giving into the demands, yes it is the big bad world of bollywood , the ugly side that one never talks about. The proud parents of some girl who dances really well & looks pretty , encourage by calling her the next madhuri dixit or the next rani mukherjee , but what are they really getting them into. Madhuri Dixit had to do a dayawaan and a vardi to get where she is today , rani mukherjee too had her share of doings in raja ki ayegi baraat & hey ram when she started out. Thousands of girls from all across india , small towns , villages , even out of india , come in india with dreams in their eyes to become a bollywood star , only a handfull of those really reach the silver screen even in small movies, most of them have to go through the highly frustrating & demeaning ordeal of being looked at by men like vultures on their prey. Many times exploited & dejected with their dreams being shattered. Even those who are lucky enough to be atleast on the silver screen get subjected to onscreen exploitation like no other, unnecessary rain songs, zoom into body parts , vulgar suggestive dance steps & double meaning dialogues.
